Top of the Rock and the Lily Sarah Grace Gala

Saturday, October 25, 2014, Alina and I said goodbye to Heather and Adam. We boarded the metro and met Jill and Kristen at the Hilton where Alina and I would be staying that night. We took a cab to Greenwich Village and had brunch at Sullivan's bistro. Then we tried that goober cab service and took a ride to the Rockefeller building. We went to the top of the rock for a great view of New York City.

After that we took a bus and got off at Central Park. After walking the little through Central Park, we took another bus to the 911 Memorial downtown. We walked the perimeter of two gaping square holes, Where the are twins how are should been. There was a constant gentle flow of water running over the sides, Leading down to a large square hole where the water disappeared. It reminded me of the continual morning families must feel for their lost ones. It was a somber time for us.

We went back to Alina's in my hotel room and prepared to get ready. The car picked us up at 6:30 PMAnd took us to Jack's studio, where the Lilly Sarah Grace Gala was being held.

It was a huge space, Completely white except for Lilly Sarah Grace decorations, projections, and artwork by various artists on the wall. Lots of fancy people and fancy outfits where they're enjoying hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and coloring in large size drawings with sharpies.

Abby Ballin was the LSG organizer for the Gala and introduced the honorees. I gave a short speech and excepted a trophy. Then the CEO of donors choose, Charles, also accepted a trophy and honors. Then we heard a performance from Rufus Wainwright, You did great job.

It was an amazing party and I'm so glad that Alina, Jill, Kristen, and Heather were able to celebrate with me there.
